Macau Nightlife: Macallan Whisky Bar

With all the old-school swagger of a gentleman’s club, the world’s first Macallan Whisky Bar (853/8883-2221) has opened as part of Macau’s Galaxy casino complex. The whisky menu covers the best of Scotland’s single malts, including some rare drops from Macallan’s own distillery in Aberdeen; there’s also an enviable wine list and a range of whisky-laced cocktails. The bar’s interiors suit the stock and clientele: think open fireplaces, rich leather Chesterfield lounges, oak paneling, and Jacobean rugs. Add the adjacent cigar room, with its walk-in humidor and great selection of Cuban classics, and you have all the trappings of a modern-day Scottish manor. –Nicholas Walton
