Two Chic New Bars Arise in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam is on the way up, with more slick developments lancing the Ho Chi Minh City skyline every month. Chill Skybar (AB Tower, 76A Le Lai St.) is now the loftiest watering hole in town, perched on the 26th and 27th floors of a brand-new high-rise. Designed by DWP—the Thai design team behind Bangkok’s Sirocco—it is also the city’s sexiest nightspot, with a two-tier lounge and restaurant area forming the backdrop for an illuminated oval bar affording 180-degree views (pictured above).

Another newcomer is Blanchy’s Tash (95 Hai Ba Trung St.), named for a former French-colonial mayor. Contemporary, Zen-like interiors mean that the hustle on the streets outside is the star of the show, best viewed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the ground-floor bar or from the breezy rooftop terrace. –Gemma Price
