Hong Kong Shopping: K11

Commerce and culture collide at Hong Kong’s K11 (18 Hanoi Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui; k11concepts.com), where six floors of high-end retail space are dotted with contemporary art. Temporary works, displayed in exhibition windows between outlets from the likes of Y-3 and Hong Kong’s own D-Mop, complement 13 permanent installations: some US$2.6 million worth of art from homegrown talents like Kum Chi Keung, Man Yi Fung, and Tony Ng, who contributed a dreamy etching of clouds across 68 acrylic panes. Given China’s relentless art scene, it’s no surprise that the K11 concept will soon be rolled out on the mainland.  –Petrina Price
